Lorraine Robertson was born in New York City on April 2, 1935, and is now a full time resident of Florida since 2010. She is a retired Family Practice Physician with a subspecialty in Addiction Medicine. After retirement, she returned to work at an earlier love in her life, painting. Since then she paints or draws nearly every day. She has studied privately with nationally known artists for many years, and also at renowned art schools such as the Art Students League, the Woodstock School of Art and the Southern Atelier of Fine Arts.

Before moving to Florida she held memberships in a number of Art organizations in a number of cities in New Jersey and often participated in their juried shows. In one show held in Tewksbury, NJ she placed 2nd out of 267 entries. In another juried show held in Morristown, NJ, she won best in watercolor and received an award from the Winsor & Newton Company. She also exhibited in several libraries in New Jersey and had a very successful exhibit at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. Many of her paintings presently hang in both private and corporate collections. Recently, a series of 21 of her paintings which she called “Ain’t Love Grand” , which are paintings of elderly people still in love, was published in a book.
